A Moment to Reflect -27
Aren’t two sparrows sold for only a penny? But your Father knows when any one of them falls to the ground. Even the hairs on your head are counted. So don’t be afraid! You are worth much more than many sparrows. – Jesus
Yes, I know this ‘portrait’ is of a young robin not a sparrow but I think Jesus would have said the same about robins. This one was in my sister’s garden a few years ago. I was able to get quite close to it- which is just as well since I don’t have one of those massive telephoto lenses that professional wildlife photographers use.
Yesterday a young sparrow got itself into our greenhouse and didn’t know how to get back out. It got a little bit panicked at times. I didn’t think it was a good idea to try to catch it but I managed to coax it in the right direction until it found the open door to escape by itself.
In a sense, I suppose what Jesus was saying is that God doesn’t need any kind of lens to see us up close and personal because he knows us inside out, and rather than lift us out of the troubles that we get ourselves into, usually he just gently coaxes us in the right direction.
“God will make a way, where there seems to be no way”
